Thomas Group Realty donated $1000 to American Cancer Society’s Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge in Gainesville during Breast Cancer Awareness Month. The American Cancer Society’s Winn-Dixie Hope Lodge houses cancer patients currently undergoing outpatient treatment at a Gainesville facility, free of charge, for the duration of the treatment.
Earlier this year Thomas Group reached a major milestone, 1000 happy customers served, and in turn, the company wished to donate $1000 to a local charity that supports the local community. Unfortunately, shortly after the company reached their milestone, one of their own was diagnosed with breast cancer.
Cynthia Grace, a Thomas Group agent, is currently undergoing chemotherapy for the treatment of breast cancer. Thomas Group dedicated the $1000 in support of her battle and it was her wish that the company reach out to the Hope Lodge and help other people who are undergoing treatment for cancer.
Thomas Group had one criterion – keep the money in town so it can help our community. Following thorough research, the Hope Lodge was the only organization where 100% of the funds received would be used locally, and directly help patients and their families through treatment.
For the Thomas Group team, Cynthia is a hero. She is battling cancer while always keeping a bright smile on her face, a positive attitude, and an open heart to others. Her mother as well as her mother’s sisters have all battled breast cancer before and Cynthia has taken her battle fearlessly, setting a goal to kick cancer and be in Hawaii sunbathing by next March. She inspires all and her donation will make a significant impact helping others through their battle.
