2017 Home Resolutions

    Be More “Green”
Pantone’s 2017 Color of the Year is “Greenery,” a hue meant to inspire tranquility and rejuvenation making 2017 all about fresh starts. Make the commitment to make your home more “green” this year. Start by refreshing your home with this lovely shade of green, we have some suggestions on how to incorporate “Greenery” into your home here.

But being “green” doesn’t mean just adding green color to your home; it means also making your home more sustainable. Have you switched to energy saving lights yet throughout your home? Have you checked for any cracks by the windows or doors that may leak the cool or hot air from your air conditioning out making it less efficient? Have you tried home composting, recycling, or reducing your overall trash disposal?

Here is a great article from Redfin with some ideas on how to make your home more “green.”

    Be More Tech Savvy
Smart Home Technology has gone from simply being a cool feature to being an absolute necessity for the modern homeowner. You can incorporate technology into your home that lets you check if the doors are locked, keeps your lights on or off with a click of a button, offers home security, and even controls the volume on the TV. Save time and money from running lights or appliances with tech integrated platforms like NEST, SkyBell and/or Alexa.

    Be More Comfortable
Did you know that a good night’s sleep can help you be more productive, focused, and improve your memory? It all starts with a good bed. Invest in your wellbeing by getting the right beds for you and your family. What about your family space – the kitchen, living room or family room where you spend the most time – is it setup to fit everyone comfortably?

Create a space you love spending time in.

    Be More You
You’ve heard the expression that every man’s home is his castle…does yours feel like your castle? If not, maybe some fresh paint and updates will do the trick. Or what about a hobby space? Somewhere where you can work on your hobbies like art, music or maybe yoga, that are specifically for you to enjoy more of being you.

But if you know that sprucing up won’t do, 2017 is a great time to buy a home and have the “castle” you’ve always wanted. Interest rates are still fairly low and home prices will only continue to increase, and the Gainesville market is hot, hot, hot!
